Online surveys can be a great way to supplement your income. The keyword here is supplement, anyone that tells you that you can make a full time income or some other exaggerated amount is just trying to sell you something.
Real survey sites will pay you but it won’t be any kind of job quitting income, you can make some extra cash, get some cool gift cards, or earn other rewards.
The main thing to remember about online surveys is that you shouldn’t have to pay to get in. There are companies out there who charge you for lists of survey sites, but realistically you can find all the websites listed there by doing a few quick Google searches.
When you are looking for real online survey sites the most important thing to check is if that site is backed by a real market research firm. If there is a real organization behind the survey site then you know that company is doing real research and will make good on their payments as they can’t afford to tarnish their reputation.
Why do People Complain about Survey Sites?
Often times survey sites will generate a bunch of online complaints and in fact I don’t think there’s a single site out there with a perfect reputation. The typical complaints come from people who failed to pass the screeners for the surveys they choose to take.
This is an unfortunate part of taking online surveys that sadly is unavoidable. Market research consists of analyzing specific demographics which requires a highly targeted sample group. This means that not everyone will qualify for every survey they attempt to take.
The best advice is to accurately fill out your profile so that you won’t be sent surveys that don’t apply to you. You should also use a separate email account so that you don’t confuse incoming surveys for email spam.
